Central MA Chapter of Trout Unlimited – December Newsletter Big changes are coming to CMTU. We have a new board and a new meeting date. New Meeting Date The CMTU monthly meeting has been moved to the 2nd Thursday of each month. The location remains the same at the Auburn Sportsman’s Club, 50 Elm St Auburn, MA. We hope this change is convenient for members and look forward to seeing you at upcoming meetings. December Chapter Meeting – Fly of the month: Adams dry fly The Adams dry fly was invented in 1922 by Leonard Halladay in Mayfield, Michigan, and named after his friend, Charles Adams. Halladay created the fly to imitate a mayfly hatch that Charles Adams was struggling to catch on the Boardman River. The chapter meeting and fly tying is free to attend and open to all, regardless of whether you are a TU member or not. Fly tying materials are included. You are encouraged to bring your own vice and tools but some spares are available. Pizza will be provided. Drinks are available. New Board Peter Sterndale has been the CMTU President for almost 2 decades. He has been instrumental in connecting our chapter to MA/RI Counsel, writing the monthly newsletter, keeping the chapter going through COVID, and creating the annual Farmington River trip. We thank him for all the amazing work he has done for the chapter and are happy to announce that Henry Dzialo will be taking over the role. Henry has been serving as our Treasurer for the past year and recently taking a larger part in managing the chapter. In addition to the change in President we also have a new Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Dave Fox, a longtime chapter member who leads our fly tying sessions, has been elected Vice President. Bob Bolivar will be taking over for Henry as Treasurer and Ian Starinovich is the new Secretary. We thank all of our board members for their help. President: Henry Dzialo We look forward to seeing everyone at the next meeting. CMTU |
