Dates: Friday, Sept 19 thru Monday Sept 29 Location: American Legion SF (Austin Hawes Campground) Site: 027 – CABIN Location: GPS Info. (Latitude, Longitude): 41.93, -73.0 41°55’48″N, 73°0’0″W Take Route 44 east from Winsted to Route 318 east to Pleasant Valley, or use Route 44 west from New Hartford to Route 181 north to Pleasant Valley. Additional details can be found here: https://connecticutstateparks.reserveamerica.com/camping/american-legion-sf-(hawes)/r/campgroundDetails.do?contractCode=CT&parkId=100103 The Farmington continues to produce trout in both Quality and Quantity. This will continue thru the Fall and will provide an excellent opportunity to close out your season. There will be dry fly action as the flying ants fall prey to the trout, but nymphs continue to be the big producers. Review the latest fishing report from the UpCountry Fly Shop, but be ready with the classics (Pheasant Tails, Hare’s Ears, Prince, Frenchies, etc in size 16 and smaller), but also have some of the junk flies just to add color to your fly box. We will have a few extra Czech Nymph Rods that you can try or go forth with the Dry Dropper or Indicator Rig. I’ve started using the Poly Indicator and am trying to keep the indicator over the flies with frequent roll casts. This minimizes the “pull” on the flies. Coolers are always appreciated. We are looking forward to seeing you for this Fall Fest. Please send us a note with number of fisherman and dates so we can plan the food. We look forward to seeing you and catching FISH.
