Time: 12:15 PM
Tackle Box Brewing Co.
416 Boston Post Rd, Marlborough, MA
Happy Holidays,
Hello CMTU.
We are starting our COVID recovery plan with a fun event at The Fly Fishing Show in Marlboro, MA. CMTU invites you, your family and fishing buddies to a Lunch at the Tackle Box Brewing Co. in Marlboro, MA (416 Boston Post Rd - East Bound). The event starts at 12:15 PM (They open at 12 Noon) and will go to 1:30 PM. We will have pizza and provide your first beer or drink. This provides you with an opportunity to go to the Show in the morning, afternoon or both.
This is going to be a very good event as we will be talking about the CMTU meeting and activities for 2024. We will discuss our Fly Tying meetings for the first Monday on each month. In addition, starting in 2024, we are looking to plan a monthly fishing adventure that starts in the month of March and will go through September. We've had very good turn-out for our "on the water" events and look to continue in some of your favorite and possible some new fishing spots.
Here are some of the locations we will discuss:
- Cape Cod Kettle Ponds - A great early spring spot to catch some big ones.
- Quinie - Our home stream, and this will be in combination with some presentations from some of our partner organizations to talk about the Big Dam Removal project.
- Swift - Just down the street. A great fishery from the "Y" pool down to Caddis Lane.
- Miller River - One of our neighboring chapter’s waters. A beautiful stream that is located not that far away.
- Deerfield River/Caddis Weekend. This is a MA Council weekend event at a wonderful set of cabins an easy walk to the river. The Caddis weekend is well named as this Caddis Crazy. Beautiful stream and meet some of our MA TU members.
- Farmington River - CT. This use to be an annual event for our chapter. The campground right on the water has cabins and tent sites. Great fishery and lots of fun when the Spinners Fall.
- Maybe Colorado!
We are very interested in providing an opportunity to meet some new fisherman and find some new waters to fish.
In addition, we will be discussing some recent donations and some left over rods from prior events and when best to raffle off.
Look forward to 2024 and a lot of fun events for CMTU. Please bring your ideas and we will discuss.
See you January 6th.
Stay Safe
